Founded by sisters Ilona Hamer and Peta Heinsen, Matteau has long been one of our favourite Australian brands. Known for timeless designs and premium quality, we love that the Matteau aesthetic is based around pieces that can be worn season after season. Each piece is made in Australia with the ethos of being simple, comfortable and uncomplicated.

Dresses
Matteau always nail a summer dress. The Drop Waist Sundress is going to be our summer go to and is a slight update on our favourite Tiered Dress, with a drop waist and subtle ties to cinch in at the waist. We’ve stocked this in a classic black and also a deep green colour. If you’re looking to add something a little dressier to your summer wardrobe the Low Back Slip Dress is the perfect event dress, cut on the bias in an organic cotton and silk blend and featuring subtle polka dots.
Shirts
We live in shirting all year round, and a classic shirt makes up a core component of our capsule wardrobe. The Classic Pocket Shirt and Relaxed Shirt, are two key styles from Matteau that we can always rely on. This season we have introduced a new Sky colourway in the Relaxed Shirt, which is the perfect light blue to wear back with our summer neutrals.
Boat Neck Tee
The Boat Neck Tee is a new silhouette from Matteau, an elevated take on a classic tee. We love that this style can be easily dressed up or down and worn tucked in or out. Cut in a heavyweight cotton in a relaxed fit, we can see this one being introduced into our regular rotation. Available in black, chalk and cacao, tick this style off in all key neutrals.
Swimwear
Known for their classic swim styles, this season we welcome back our favourite Square Maillot full piece as well as bikini separates the Petite Triangle Top and Petite Brief, and sportier 90’s inspired styles the Crop Top and Nineties Classic Brief. We’ve been stocking these swim styles for many seasons now, and they’re the perfect example of when you invest in classic styles, they don’t date and you’ll have them for more than just a season or two.
Sandals
Matteau and A.Emery launched their sandal collaboration in early 2021, and The Spargi Sandal has since developed a cult following and become one of our favourite core sandal styles. This season we have restocked the classic black colourway (we know these won’t be around for long!) as well as the introduction of a new season Chocolate, the perfect darker neutral.
