How Deiji Studios Became Our Weekend Wardrobe MVP

Deiji Studios

Is it just us, or has there been a bit of a shift in your weekend wardrobe? Have you noticed yourself reaching for different kinds of clothing? Favouring a specific fit or fabrication?

Because here at The UNDONE, we’ve noticed a subtle change in the kinds of things we want to wear on the weekend or working from home, or on days off where we’re running errands and ticking things off our to-do lists. Gone are the days when we reached for the activewear although our gym kit is still getting a workout when we workout and instead we’re opting for looser, more relaxed pieces of clothing.

Things with oversized fits, are easy to style, and simple, unfussy silhouettes. Things in breathable fabrications in our classic colour palettes of monochromes and neutrals. Things that might even come in a set, for the ultimate in ‘don’t overthink it’ dressing. Things like the pieces we own from Deiji Studios.

Deiji Cotton Shirt and Trouser White

We first began stocking Deiji Studios at The Undone back in 2019, and it quickly proved to be one of our most popular and sought after brands. The label hails from Byron Bay, New South Wales, and was founded in 2016 by Juliette Harkness and Emma Nelson, retailing high quality linen bedding and matching loungewear, celebrating all things sleep, relaxation and repose. Their offering is small, but perfectly formed: simple matching leisurewear sets and robes, made from the highest quality linen in a range of gorgeous colours.

This season, the brand has branched out into cotton separates, and we’ve stocked up as part of our new arrivals at The UNDONE. You can shop our range here, which includes a selection of the brand’s trademark short loungewear set as well as new oversized shirts and trousers in crisp, cool cotton poplin.

The thing we love about Deiji Studios is the absolute ease you feel when you wear one of their sets. You know that saying ‘time to slip into something a little more comfortable’? It’s almost as if it was made to describe the feeling of wearing Deiji Studios. The relaxed silhouettes are the perfect balance of loose and oversized comfort with classic, simple elegance. The soft linen is a dream against your skin on a warm day or in our current transeasonal weather. And the colours – from that rich olive green to the bright whites – slot effortless into any capsule wardrobe.

On a weekend, when we want mindless but still mindful dressing, we’ve found ourselves reaching for a Deiji Studios set without thinking. Whether in the long or short option, these sets offer easy dressing for those moments when you need to get out the door, but still want to look put together in an UNDONE kind of way.

But don’t forget that the sets can be easily broken up into their separate parts and worn on their own, too. The shorts look fantastic over a one-piece swimsuit, or paired with a tank for a laid back weekend brunch. And the shirt’s oversized shape can be tucked into a pair of jeans for a more dressed-up outfit mid-week, or worn loose over a ribbed skirt into the evening. Undo the buttons and style the shirt as a light extra layer over a slip dress. The kimono-style tie top that comes as part of the trouser set can double up as a robe. The longer trousers look great with a fitted T-shirt tucked into them and a pair of go-anywhere sandals. The world is your oyster.

Let’s be honest though: our favourite way of wearing our Deiji Studios set is all together, all at once. These sets were made for pairing up. Have you found your match yet?
